Episode 163: A Royal Corgi Christmas

Merry Woffmas! Its our final episode for the festive season and final episode for 2022! This week we’re taking about a Hallmark Christmas movie, which should tick a certain amount of boxes right? Unfortunately A Royal Corgi Christmas doesn’t have a cute romance, nor a tree lighting (what?!) and for a movie with a dog training plot. Theres not much of that, either!

But surely theres something we liked about it, right?

Episode 162: The Grinch (2018)

Anna and Em from the Shelf Aware podcast are back for their annual Christmas episode! The Grinch is ingrained in popular christmas culture. Even if you’ve never seen it, you know it. But how does this version stack up against the others? Em has all the Dr. Seuss facts you need, while Anna is curious about why this version of the Whos are … fuzzy? Meanwhile Kate finds herself identifying with the Grinch a little too much.

Plus! The most important topic to date. Is The Grinch’s dog Max a loyal good boy being manipulated or culpable in his green masters behaviour?

Episode 136: A Dog for Christmas

For our last Christmas episode (and last for 2021) we have possibly the most misleading movie in existence. How much dog content should be in a movie titled A Dog For Christmas? A lot more than this one has! And even looking beyond the lack of dog, is there anything redeemable about the movie that claims to be a low budget version of Christmas Vacation? (Spoilers: NO)

But don’t worry, we fill your doggo needs with talk of Izzy, Gideon and Jazz. Plus we’ve got some very exciting doggo spots.

Happy Holidays!

Episode 134: Gremlins

Happy Holidays! Em and Anna from the Shelf Aware podcast are back for their annual Christmas movie. While this one, the 1984 classic, Gremlins, pushes the boundaries of a dog in a movie, it doesn’t stop the ladies finding distractions with other topics. Anna has to know about the age of the main character and why he has teenage friends. Em gets stuck on what exactly this movie is trying to say. While Kate just want to talk about best boy Barney.

Plus the winner of the naughtiest dog story is announced!

Episode 112: Look Who’s Talking Now

Anna and Em from the Shelf Aware podcast join the show again. This time together to talk the 1993 comedy Look Who’s Talking Now! This is a movie set during Christmas, with talking dogs, but aimed at an adult audience. So what could possibly go wrong? A lot, actually!

From controversial co-stars to awkward doggy sperm sequences, this movie brings up a lot of questions, most of which have nothing to do with Christmas. But the most important question plaguing our minds… 90s John Travolta: Hot or not?
